Rainbow Chickens - 36x36 Original Painting

Original Acrylic painting. Nine chicken breeds in a grid format with decorative painted sides, varnished and ready to hang.

The idea for Rainbow Chickens came to me in a flash of inspiration as I was falling asleep one night. Lots of artists make grid style paintings. I've seen everything from colorful dots, to flowers, to every day objects. They are super satisfying to look at, but I never considered making a grid painting myself. Until one night, dozing off, suddenly it came to me. Chickens. I had already been brewing up some chicken paintings, but suddenly I knew what I needed to paint first. I could see it. 9 chickens in a grid, each one a different breed, with the color of the eggs that they lay as their background color. The next day I pulled out a canvas and got to work, and here we are. I'm thrilled with the result. They are loose, simplified, whimsical, and absolutely precious. I am excited to send them off into the world to find their new home. Cheers!
